The DIMS Mobile App has been engineered to capture and ingest nearly every evidence file type without interrupting existing workflows. Photos, audio, video, and documents can be captured or uploaded directly from a secure application environment. Unlike standard device cameras, evidence files are never placed in the personal gallery; instead, they are stored within encrypted app storage.
Once acquisition is completed, the app automatically initiates a secure upload to the DIMS ImageServer over a high-speed mobile connection. Each file is verified by checksum to confirm integrity and maintain compliance with chain of custody protocols before removal from local storage.
Metadata, including geolocation, timestamp, device ID, and authorized user credentials, is attached to each asset at the moment of capture, creating a defensible record. Administrators can configure policies, permissions, and encryption settings remotely, while automatic receipts log every transaction. This process allows agencies to ingest all file types seamlessly while maintaining security and evidentiary reliability.
Secure Evidence Collection from the Field
Evidence can now be acquired directly at the scene with the DIMS Mobile App. Still images, video, and audio recordings can be captured on a smart device without docking to a computer. Every file is sent directly to the DIMS ImageServer, eliminating delays and preserving the integrity of the chain of custody.
Customizable App Controls and Policies
Each agency can configure workflows, permissions, and security settings through the administrator panel. “Write Once, Run Anywhere” technology allows updates and policy changes to be pushed automatically to all connected devices. Detectives and officers are therefore guided by agency policies in the field, with compliance enforced at every step.
Asset Handling and Chain of Custody Protection
Captured files are never stored in a device’s native gallery. Instead, assets remain in app storage until they are successfully transferred to the DIMS ImageServer. Once confirmed, they are automatically removed from local storage. This design prevents tampering, protects authenticated interview recording, and upholds the chain of custody. Deleted assets, when authorized, are redirected to dated folders on the ImageServer for later review.
Metadata Preservation for Every Capture
All files acquired through the DIMS Mobile App include metadata such as GPS location, date and time (based on the carrier network), device type, and authorized user details. This embedded information strengthens credibility in court.

Each transaction generates a receipt, giving transparency to the process. Screen capture logging also alerts administrators whenever screenshots are taken, helping protect sensitive information.

Every user must be authenticated by the DIMS Mobile App and verified by the ImageServer. Asset receipts record each action, providing transparency from acquisition to storage. These logs support audit trails that are critical for digital evidence management and defensible courtroom presentation.
